New York City – the city that never sleeps.

16th August 2014

I fell in love with the bustling New York City the moment I drove into it.  With so many things to do, to see and to experience – how could I not?!?  Did all the typical touristy things: we went to the Statue of Liberty, MoMa, Rockefeller Center (a must, for the view at Top of the Rock, wow!), Broadway, Wall street – everything! And I loved every second.  We stayed in a cheap youth hostel, lived on breakfast bagels and took the subway everywhere.

I have never been so incredibly tired as I was in New York on our last night there.  We didn’t sleep much, because there was just too much to do and to see.  On our last night, we went up the Empire State Building at around midnight and OH! what a view.  Little lights everywhere around you with the Hudson river separating Manhattan with the rest of the world. Beautiful!

What I loved most about New York, however, was just walking around in the streets.  I found the city very interesting just looking at the people, the little parks with big trees and doves and people reading the newspaper.  I found this city to be very unique, with its own special character and type of people. People who are still awake at two in the morning walking around Times Square chewing on something that they bought from a street vendor.  And the most remarkable thing is that it’s really beautiful.  How can all that concrete be beautiful, you ask?  I have no idea, but it really, really is.

With so many different things to keep yourself entertained, how can you not love this city?  How can you not find something to tickle your fancy?  Want to go?  So just go… Just travel!
